Our CHD Quilt Page

Tapestry of Life

Each human life is but a tapestry woven from the threads of our personal experiences and relationships.  The textures and colours are the years of unbelievable joys, tragic sorrows, and important lessons we encounter along the way.  The knots that holds the threads in place are the cherished family members and truest friends.....  Without which the whole masterpiece would unravel and be lost.

The CHD awareness Quilt Project is a group of volunteer quilters and heart families around the globe who are united in promoting greater public awareness of congenital heart disorders.

The label on quilt number two reads:  "This series of quilts has been lovingly created to passionately promote congenital heart disease awareness one stitch at a time" My nephew James' block is on quilt number 5.

Although the family's on our pages are but a few we too can make a difference.  If you wish to know more about this project please click on the CHD quilt block at the bottom of this page to take you to their web site.  You can also use the quilt blocks to take you to the children's home pages.  My heartfelt thanks to Nancy for making James his special block.  Nancy's granddaughter Samantha also has HLHS.  The rainbow has special significance to our family as James has a rainbow blanket that was made for him after we nearly lost him for the second time, he never went without his rainbow blanket after that, and it serves as a reminder that we must always have "HOPE"

I also wish to thank Sara another special Aunty who lost her precious nephew Spencer to HLHS 2/21/00 ~ 3/3/00 as she also is involved with the quilt project and has been a continued source of encouragement to me.....so "hugs" to you Sara.

This is the finished quilt (number 5) which James block is a part of, you can see James block is 2nd from the top on the left.
