Update since Kians arrival

Here is another update rather belated I’m afraid as you read on you will soon see why . It has been very busy here, Kian was 5 months old and my period was late, just in case I decided to do a pregnancy test, the result was positive to say we were in a state of shock is an understatement, after loosing Molly it took us just over a year to fall pregnant with Kian we never imagined it would happen so quickly this time. We had always said Molly would have a brother or sister but the shock of having 2 children under the age of 2 was quite daunting.

We had scans at Guys hospital again and was told from what they could see the babies heart looked fine, which was a huge relieve but I don’t think we would be convinced till the baby was born.

At our 20 week scan we were told all looked fine we asked the sex of the baby and was told it looks like a girl! We were so happy to be having a girl but it stirred up lots of mixed emotions, our daughter was due 20th October 2004.

In May we had a week’s holiday in a seaside town Great Yarmouth it was lovely we had a great time, although the weather was typically British. Kian started pulling himself up the furniture while we were away. He was also scared stiff of the sand. When out walking with Kian he is always happily babbling and grinning at people in the street, people always stop and say what a lovely little boy it makes us so proud.

August 19th

Kian celebrated his 1st birthday it was another very emotional day he was spoilt rotten as you would expect , We decorated our front room with balloons and banners he also had a birthday cake with the Tweenies iced on it. Once again thinking Molly should be here to unwrap Kian’s presents for him. Kian starting walking around the time of his birthday now there is no stopping him.

Sept 25th

Today we moved into our new house its lovely, it’s a brand new 2 bedroom house in a lovely village, Kian now has a garden to play in when the summer comes, it seems huge compared to our flat

September 26th

Molly’s 3rd birthday . We got Molly some beautiful flowers as usual and spent lot of the day at her special place. As you would expect Molly’s birthdays are still very hard to cope with but somehow we manage. Wishing she was here to open her presents and to see the big smile on her face as she sees what surprises we have in store not sure if her birthdays will ever get easier.

The baby’s due date had passed and on the 23rd October late in the evening I started to have contractions so we took Kian off to my parents and left it until my contractions were 5 mins apart and set off for the hospital. They started coming every 2 minutes then just stopped.....Nothing . My blood pressure shot up and I had had protein in my urine so they decided to keep me in and if nothing had happened they would induce me on the Monday (25th).

This scared the life out of us as we were induced with Molly and that was a very difficult labour. I was given some prostin around 8am and nothing happened, Mark came to se me then My mum and Kian arrived, I really missed the little monkey though he was having the time of his life staying at nanny and granddads. When they left I was given some more prostin and was told to stay mobile so I took a walk to the supermarket down the road to get something to read and some nibbles.

Mark came back still nothing to report a few tightenings but that was it , he had to leave at 10pm as I was on the antenatal ward, we were all given something to help us relax as we were told it can get quite noisy and we need all the energy we had for having our baby’s.

At about 3:15am I was having a few niggles nothing much but I told the nursing staff anyway, they told me to leave it 30 mins and they would put me on the monitor and see how things were going.  I didn’t ring mark as it was the early hours of the morning and they were only niggles. 30 mins later they put me on the monitor and left me to it all of a sudden the niggles got painful and after about 3 mins my waters broke I buzzed the nursing staff to tell them but with the next contraction I had the overwhelming need to push, the nursing staff starting screaming for a delivery pack the baby was coming.

At 4am a healthy Chloe Jade Lloyd was born weighing 8lb and she looks so like her big sister Molly. I immediately asked for someone to ring Mark I need him. I was still on the antenatal ward it all happened so quickly I didn’t have time to go to the labour ward. They soon  moved me to the labour ward where I rang mark telling him he could come now I had been moved. I felt so guilty mark missed it and still do although it all happened so quickly.

Chloe was born so quickly she was very ‘snuffly’ so they had to clean out her nose and warm her up as the antenatal ward isn’t as warm as the labour ward.

Kian is very good with his little sister he always wants to cuddle her and help me feed her and covers his nose when I am changing her nappy not bad for a 17 month old.

We took Kian to see Santa he loved it, he gave Santa a huge hug and babbled to him forever, not sure who was the biggest kid Kian or Mark.

25th December 2004.

This was Chloe’s first Christmas and our first Christmas in our new home, there were soooooooo many presents Kian's face was a picture when we went down stars Christmas morning, Chloe will have a better time next Christmas as she was only 2 months old this time only interested in drinking and sleeping. We visited Molly’s place Christmas morning as we have done every Christmas since she’s been gone her grave was beautifully decorated with Christmas ornaments and decorations.

I would be lying if I said it was easy , they defiantly keep us on our toes. We would still give anything to have Molly here ruling the roost and bossing Kian about , it has been an emotional roller coaster but we just ride it
